TRADITIONS ALIVE – 25 years of dance and music

2016 marked 25 years of M-DO/KathakToronto offering kathak dance classes locally, nationally and internationally.  On Saturday December 10th, students from our three GTA locations, Toronto, Scarborough and Brampton, came together in an afternoon celebration of the incredible art of kathak.  From traditional invocations, to abstract (nritt) within a variety of rhythms, to narrative stories of Radha, Krishna (natyam), and even a contemporary telling of Red Riding Hood, original Canadian-made music elevated the innovative choreography we have become known for to new heights!  A fantastic time was had by all, from the dancers on stage to our sold out audience!  Thanks to all who made it out, thanks to our volunteers, who made the afternoon flow effortlessly, and to the staff at the York Woods Library Theatre.
